This totally charming 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is located in breathtaking Pleasant Valley and only minutes away from Smugglers Notch Ski Area. Our cottage is located on Upper Pleasant Valley Road with a fantastic view of Mount Mansfield and the Green Mountains, our family's dairy farms, and soft, rolling hills. It is picture postcard Vermont complete with stone walls and maple trees. We know you will love it as much as we do.
Eleanor's Cottage has farm house charm with all the modern amenities you could ask for! This newly renovated home features a brand new kitchen fully equipped with Corian counter tops, stainless steel appliances, beautiful new cabinetry and everything you will need from a simple breakfast to an elegant dinner party. The kitchen opens on to a large deck with a gas grill for seasonal use. The family room opens onto a large sun room with a magnificent view of the valley and mountains. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has two twins and the third has a daybed with pop up trundle. The mattresses are amazing! The third bedroom also has a built in desk with WiFi. In the family room you will find Direct TV with DVR, CD and DVD player. There are stereo speakers in the kitchen, family room, on the deck (seasonally) and the porch. The bathroom has a large shower, full size stacked washer, and linen storage closet. Also included are an infant seat, high chair and portable crib. Of course all linens are provided.
Jeffersonville and Cambridge are the nearest villages and are New England picturesque! There are restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, a lovely inn, and well stocked general stores.
Smugglers Notch, one of the best family resorts in America, is only moments away. "Smuggs" ski trails connect into Sterling Mountain in Stowe and a tram leads from Sterling Mountain to the base of Mount Mansfield. Stowe Village is less than a half hour by car in the summer and one of the most beautiful drives over Smugglers Notch you'll ever experience! The Trapp Family Lodge offers a great music series in the summer and is part of the annual summer Mozart Festival. There are numerous lakes, rivers, hiking, golfing, canoeing, antiquing and more. Vermont is truly the outdoorsman’s paradise!
There are so many things to do within a short drive; the Boyden Valley Winery is a must see, the Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain with biking trails, sailing and dinner cruises, even Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory and Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, just to name a few. Downtown Burlington's Church Street, which is a block or two from the shore of Lake Champlain, offers fine dining and wonderful shopping. It's only a two hour drive to downtown Montreal which is considered the most European city in North America. Burlington International Airport is only 35 minutes away.
